Tips for accomplishing a project

12/8/17 - I feel overwhelmed sometimes by the amount of things I need to do. I try to find an order so I can track things easily and keep life running smoothly. Organizing is the best way to find things quickly and efficiently. Organizing the information you have is in fact the hardest part about writing a personal blog too because it needs to have a clear start, end, and middle and it needs to have a smooth flow. That is what storyboarding is all about (you may have heard this term at work or school), and that is what makes one a great story teller. So organization tips when you are feeling overwhelmed - 1) Start somewhere. No matter how small the task may seem. Don't wait to plan it all out before starting. Starting a task is the hardest thing to do, and once you start, you put things in motion. As my new motto, doing something is better than doing nothing. 2) Once you have finished that task, consider what is the next thing that you can do that will bring you as close to 80% of the accomplishment. Do this thing next. This is also known as the 80/20 rule. 3) Once you have completed the 80% thing, you should be motivated to just finish the remaining 20%. And voila! you did it! 4) Do a little victory dance so you brain remembers next time how good it feels to do these tasks, and hopefully it will be less overwhelming next time.
